NAMASTE 2.0
BALANCED PRACTICE ... BALANCED LIFE
"Lifelong athlete and sport enthusiast Dane Vemb loves nothing better than finding the back of the net with a puck or pounding over hills on his mountain bike, but one day, he wanders into a Bikram yoga studio. By the time he leaves the hot room, sweat-soaked and inspired, he’s completely hooked and determined to master this new “sport.” Unlike most aspiring yogis, though, Dane’s not averse to a can of Red Bull or a puff of weed to enhance his spiritual and physical endeavours. Now and then, he even goes off to Peru on a quest to explore the visionary properties of ayahuasca. Early in his dedicated at-home and in-studio yoga practice, Dane comes to realize his 26-posture sequence has plateaued and sets out on a pursuit for answers to better depth in each of the postures. After a decade, he is given the intel from a ‘yoga whisperer,’ and with the same energy he uses to hustle his way down the ice playing hockey, Dane develops a balanced and much-improved practice. In this hilarious and insightful part-memoir/part-yoga manual, he wittily chronicles his physical and emotional journey into thriving rather than merely surviving. In a series of beautiful photos of his daughter Stephanie demonstrating yin postures and before-and-after shots of Dane measuring the gains in his own practice, readers are provided with a practical, step-by-step guide to a better yoga practice. But more importantly, they are gifted a blueprint for a happier, more creative, and fulfilled life. And they’ll be laughing every step of the way." ~ FriesenPress Review |

AUTHOR'S NOTE
If I were asked what is the unique selling point of my book I would say, the power of suggestion. In NAMASTE 2.0, the title alone suggests to the readership that there is a new 'higher ground' in terms of what Namaste means. The sub-title reflects that with a balanced practice, one can achieve a balanced life. Nowadays, with an attitude of "what's this all about?," more and more people are striving to make a difference; thus, N2.0 may also provide answers to personal self-worth and a more meaningful life.
Not only does NAMASTE 2.0 provide the reader with a bonafide 'game plan' to elevate their practice and are 'gifted' a blueprint for a more fulfilled life, but the reader is encouraged to up their Namaste game to new heights by joining the Namaste Movement—to be a part of a global community based on creativity and the element of real connectedness. At 428 pages, the book is an absolute juggernaut of information. What started as a 'how-to' yoga instructional book, through no preconceived plan or ulterior motive, it naturally morphed into a book that welcomes the reader to take the transparent life maps I've detailed, laying them over their own so they can thrive on this planet instead of the mundane of merely surviving. Not only does the book provide the reader with 46 Yin postures to complement the 26-posture Bikram sequence, but I've also created a Training Block to bring your practice to new heights. I've assembled sections on fitness and weight training, core strengthening and balance, cardiovascular health, and nutrition geared toward elevating your practice. I've also included a four-part section on Mental Health that I used to extinguish childhood traumas. Bonus sections include the Letting Go Factor, Yoga Hacks for Better Depth and the importance of yoga on Injury and Rehabilitation. I'm stressing the wealth of information in NAMASTE 2.0 to justify the book's cost with a page count of this magnitude. I ask that you consider a digital version for several reasons. |

A quick FYI ... the Yin posture demonstration and fitness intel can be used to get better depth in all of the Hatha yoga postures; the scope of this book is certainly not limited to the 26-posture Bikram sequence.
